Our Association is the state body for Masters Athletics in NSW, is a Club affiliated with Athletics New South Wales, and represents fitness, fun and friendship across a range of athletic activities.
NSW Masters Athletics welcomes Jeanette Flynn. Jeanette, who has recently moved to New South Wales from Queensland, is a world class middle distance athlete. She holds many State and Australian records from the 400m to 5000m and holds the World Record for W55 800m of 2:21.98 set in Brisbane in 2007.

These are the current world records in the various age groups of Masters athletics, maintained by WMA, the World Association of Masters Athletes, which is designated by the IAAF to conduct the worldwide sport of Masters (Veterans) Athletics (Track and Field). Starting at age 35, each age group starts on the athlete's birthday in years that are evenly divisible by 5 and extends until the next.

NSW Combined Championships Wrap 4 Blue Mountains athletes competed in the recent NSW Combined Events Championships. Emma Cormack came 6th in the OpenW Heptathlon with 3323 points, Michael Laws 2nd 30-35M Pentathlon with 2084 points (and set a new Club Record), Robert Haberman came 3rd in 40-45M Pentathlon with 2346 points and Jan.

One of NSW’s best masters athletes this season has been Belinda Martin, who now aged 37, recent won the Australian open 5000 metres title and is running better than ever. Martin started athletics very young and had success as a sprinter. “From the age of five I would go training with my dad,” said Martin.
Masters athletics is for athletes aged 30 and over, and is divided into 5 year age groups (30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, etc). Cherrybrook Masters compete as part of the Friday night program during the summer season running from September through to the middle of March each year, following the same program as our seniors, as well as a winter and summer program prepared by Athletics NSW.
Masters Swimming NSW is pleased to announce that a new date has been arranged for the 2020 MSA National Championships. Pool events will be conducted at Sydney Olympic Park from Wednesday September 30 to Saturday October 3. The status of the Open Water events is yet to be confirmed.
Tompkins (UTS Norths), who still competes in masters athletics, won three NSW titles and three Australian championships medals in the '70s. In the '80s and early '90s Anthony Hough was one of NSW's finest decathletes claiming three national silver medals and scored a best of 7676 points, the fourth highest in NSW history.
Athletics NSW will announce the final day, possibly this week, but with major state titles now coming up, to select a day is going to be very hard. Blue Stars once again flew the flag proudly, and our Masters group is one of the most supportive of our club and also of major meets such as these state titles.

It enables you to produce a percentage score for each run or other athletics event based on how old you were when you did the competition and the comparative performance of world record holders taking into their age and event itself.

Masters athletics is a class of the sport of athletics for older athletes in track and field, road running and cross country running. Competitors are bracketed into five-year age groups beginning at 35 for track and field and 40 for distance-running events.
